Attendance and Punctuality

As a school we work hard to ensure all attend working proactively with families to support good attendance and punctuality. Each week we hold an attendance meeting in which lateness, attendance patterns/percentages and Leave from Learning requests are discussed. This has had a positive impact on supporting families and improving our overall attendance and punctuality.

It is a parents legal duty to ensure their children (of compulsory school age who are registered at school) attend regularly. As a school we work with Calderdale Education Welfare Services. Our Education Welfare Officer (EWO) is Mr Duncan Thorpe, who is also a Senior EWO. The Education Pupil Registration England Amendment Regulations 2013 came into force on 1st September 2013 stating that Headteachers cannot grant leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. A Leave from Learning form is at the end of our school policy.

Please use the link below to our Punctuality and Attendance Policy (including Leave of Absence Request Form) and forms page which also has a Leave of Absence Request Form.
