Assessment Summary 2018-2019

(last set of validated, accountable data)

EYFS

Children are defined as having reached a 'Good Level of Development' (GLD) at the end of the EYFS if they have achieved at least the expected level in the early learning goals in the prime areas of learning (personal, social and emotional development; physical development; and communication and language).

School results for GLD continue to be above that of the national standard. APS (Average Point Score) has now been above that of the National for the last three years.

Phonics Screening (Year 1/2)

The results from Phonics Screening are in line with those at a national level. This year 82.1% of the pupils in Year 1 achieved the expected standard in phonics.

Key Stage 1 (End of Year 2)

At the end of Key Stage One, teachers report assessment data for all children in reading, writing, maths and science.  These assessments are based upon learning and work in class as well as end of year standard attainment tests (SATs).

Reading

80% of children achieved expected standard in reading, which was above the national standard.  20% achieved greater depth standard, which was slightly below the national standard.

Writing

63.3% of children achieved the expected standard in writing and 6.7% achieved greater depth standard.  These are below national figures for writing.

Maths

In maths 73.3% of children achieved expected standard and 20% achieved greater depth standard. This is slightly below national figures.

Science

83.1% of our pupils achieved expected standard in science, which is above national figures.

Key Stage 2 (End of Year 6)

At the end of Year 6, pupils take standard attainment tests (SATs) in reading, English grammar, punctuation and spelling (EGPS) and maths.  The results of these tests determine whether a pupil has met the expected standard for Key Stage Two. Writing is teacher assessed against a framework using a range of work completed by pupils over the year.

Reading

In reading, 88.5% of pupils achieved expected standard, well above national figures.  Those achieving a higher score were in line with national figures.

Writing

73.1% of pupils achieved expected standard and 11.5% achieved greater depth.  These results are below national figures.

EGPS

76.9% of pupils achieved expected standard and 19.2% achieved a higher score in the test, which are below national figures.

Maths

80.8% of pupils achieved expected standard in maths, above the national figures.  23.1% achieved a higher score, which is slightly below national results.
